WindTrends reanalysis wind data deliveries

Windtrends standard delivery includes hourly series of the period 1997-2009 in the client’s point of interest. The client will get 5 different data files: Model outputs of the 4 closest grid points and distance interpolation to the client’s selected point. All the files, zipped into one, include hourly outputs of speed, wind direction, pressure, density and temperature at the chosen height. Each of the files contains more than 100,000 hourly records.

Wintrends temperature montlhy evolution

Mean monthly temperature comparsion between observations and windTrends data. Period 1988-1989.

data reanalysis: correlated and predicted

Daily correlation between observational data and data extracted from windTrends.

WindTrends standard delivery includes :

  • 1997-2009 direct hourly outputs of speed and wind direction, pressure, temperature and density in the 4 closest model grid points to the client's point of interest (See an example). The four data points allow the client to choose the best correlation with his measurements, or perform a multilinear regression.
  • 1997-2009 distance interpolated outputs of speed and wind direction, pressure, temperature and density in selected point (see example).
  • GIS-Map to have a better understanding of the surrounding area, including the position of the model grid points and the client's point of interest (see an example).
  • Previous deliveries will be complemented with a report resuming the main characteristics of the wind resource: wind roses, wind speed distributions, monthly, daily and annual distributions and monthly, daily and seasonal anomalies of the wind resource. (see an example)

WindTrends is available at 10,60,80 and 100m heights. It covers most of Europe, North America and South Canada.

WindTRends is typically delivered in 1-2 weeks after the client’s request. The database is monthly updated, so the client can also subscribe for 6 to 12 months updates over some desired points.
